The newish coffee shop (called The Coffee Shop) is very simple, basic and no frills which seems to be a good idea after the preivious, overblown Sugar Loaf Cafe in the same space. I have only had coffee there a couple of times but the owner seems friendly and it looks like people are more comfortable there than in the last incarnation. Also, there is less tension there than at the old Kitchen + Coffee (again in the same space). Nothing to write home about perhaps, but maybe that is just what the village needs...
